On Wednesday 13th October, Matt’s emails pinged much like any other day. But this time it was different.
The subject of the email was “Hull Live Business Awards 2021”. Oooh, exciting!
Our Director, Matt had submitted an application to the awards back in September and had been waiting to hear back from the judging panel. And here it was. The email that would reveal whether Matt had been shortlisted.
A quick scan of the email and his eyes were drawn to the following line…
“I am pleased to inform you that your nomination has been shortlisted in the below category.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year”
He’d done it! Shortlisted for Hull Live’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year!
In Matt’s application, he had spoken about the lessons learnt from freelancing, plans for the future (both for the business and personally), his passion for Hull and what makes Different Resonance so special.
We’ve not had any specific feedback from the judges but we assume Matt’s story must have resonated (😉) with them.
Speaking about being shortlisted, Matt said "Being included in this shortlist is an honour. Some of the region's top talent and most exciting businesses are being recognised at these awards and to be a part of that is amazing.".
With the news being made public yesterday, Matt has spent time thanking those involved in his journey so far, replying to some wonderful comments across social media and booking his ticket for the glitzy award do.
Fingers crossed Matt takes home the title of Young Entrepreneur of the Year on the 18th of November.
