Generation Hull

Digital & Social Media

Working with Generation Hull's young people's steering group, we co-created their social media and website content over a two-year period.

The challenge.

We were approached by the Chair of Generation Hull, as well as their Programme Lead, to be their Digital and Social Media partner. This would entail crafting a visual identity, generating social media content and reviving their dormant website. All of this work was to be carried out in partnership with the young people on their steering group. We would then need to use the website and social media channels to document the young people's work and the opportunities available to them.

To kick off this project, we first met with the Chair and Programme Lead to understand their objectives for the initiative. Following that, we met with the Steering Group which was made up of young people. We then used their input to craft a social media strategy, visual identity and development plan for the website which was shared with them for feedback. Once we had these nailed, we then managed the day-to-day running of the website and social media, using the input of the Steering Group to decide what and when we posted. We also worked with the young people, schools and cultural organisations to craft specific pieces of content, including a young person's point of view from the Pride in Hull parade in 2023

The approach.

"Different Resonance has been exceptional in working with others, in particularly working with young people to make this happen."

Lisa Wedgner, Programme Lead

The results.

Across the two years, we worked with Generation Hull to capture all of their activity, working with their 32-person strong young person steering group. This included 24 steering group meetings, 14 school creative leads meetings, 9 creative partner meetings and steering group experiences with 14 arts organisations. Covering this activity and producing supporting content resulted in a 250% increase in enquiries through the website, an average engagement rate (AER) of 14.29% on Instagram and an AER of 3.06% on Twitter.
